This blog is my journal, a place where I write down all the silly, crazy, ridiculous, wonderful things that happen in my life. I should start by saying that I had 3 kids in 2.5 years (how is this possible? #2 and 3 are twins!) and I swore when I was 17 that I would never: A. Get married and, B. Have children. Ha ha, right? In previous incarnations, I have been:
1. A Subway Sandwich Artist
2. The Worst Bartender You Ever Met (in almost-Canada New York)
3. A Kick Ass Waitress
4. A Super-high achieving neurotic college student majoring in English Literature/Writing and Spanish and, oh yeah,
5. A Marine
After Kid#1's surprise conception, all my plans were cast aside because although I couldn't have ever imagined this before, I realized I couldn't drop that baby off to a day care center and trot happily off to work. So, since my husband has a decent job, I decided to put off having a career and make raising the kiddos my total focus for right now. This leaves me filled with joy and yet desperate for some time and space in which to pee by myself (often at the same time).
Here are things you should know about me:
1. I have a smart mouth (my supervisor once nominated me to be the "Captain of the All-Marine Smart Ass Team and called me COTAMSAT forever afterwards. Sadly, no such team exists.)
2. I will tell you the truth about my life...without any solicitation sometimes and with little to no editing. I'm not sure how I turned out this way as my mother is Japanese and therefore very private about family issues.
3. I am a militant recycler. I wish I had a head lamp and a samurai sword like Recyclops from "The Office".
4. I am really, really, really proud of the human beings I am raising. I'm sorry if I get braggy, but seriously, they are so freaking awesome and weird!
5. I am a bit of a hippie. Not a fun, weed smoking, listening to Marley while wearing tie dyed broom skirts and shell/hemp necklaces in my dreads kind of hippie. Like a nerdy pro-recycling, "Hey kids! Let's pick up trash on the beach for fun!" kind of hippie who uses resuable sandwich bags and hangs her clothes on the line kind of hippie.
6. I am usually in bed by 9 pm. My 94 year old Grandma stays up later than I do.
Hope you like the blog...and that it gives you a laugh at the very least...these crazy shenanigans better be good for something, dammit!
